 What We Do

At CWcSN, we work to challenge gender inequality, empower women and to promote the rights and well-being of women and children from marginalized communities. Our activities are grounded in advocacy, education, counseling, and the promotion of non-conventional livelihoods. The following are the primary emphasis areas and initiatives we carry out:

What We
Offer

01

Annual Campaigns on Gender-Based Violence

We organize annual awareness campaigns during the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, in collaboration with women’s movements and NGOs.

These campaigns create visibility around the issue and mobilize collective action to end gender-based violence.

03

Counseling Services

Personal and Family Counseling: We offer support and counseling to women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse, helping them navigate personal crises and regain their confidence.

Motivational Sessions for Children of Alcoholic Parents: Motivational counseling sessions are organized to help the mental and emotional well-being of children growing up in difficult family environments.

05

PROMOTION OF NON-CONVENTIONAL LIVELIHOODS FOR WOMEN

CWcSN actively promotes non-traditional livelihood opportunities for empower women to break gender stereotypes in employment. Women have historically been undervalued in the workforce due to their roles being concentrated in the nurturing and service sectors. We strive to recognise and enhance women's participation in economic development by facilitating fair wages and dignified employment.

Our Key Livelihood Training Areas:

Cab Driving Program for Women

As a model for economic independence and empowerment, CWcSN runs a cab driving course exclusively for women. This initiative promotes women’s mobility, visibility in public spaces, and access to non-traditional employment avenues.

Training in mechanism and servicing

Plumbing and electrician training, Two- and four-wheeler mechanics, home appliance servicing and repairs. We enroll women from marginalized communities in 4–7-month training programs, and upon completion, facilitate employment with reputed companies or support individual or group-based entrepreneurship.

02

Gender Sensitization Initiatives

CWcSN conducts a variety of gender sensitization activities targeted at different groups:

For Teachers, PTA & Children: Interactive sessions are organized to raise awareness about gender equality and respectful behavior.

For Corporate Employees: In partnership with HR departments of corporate and multinational companies, we facilitate gender sensitization dialogues through employee engagement programs.

For Men in Communities: We engage young men in ending violence against women, through inputs on gender equality and gender sensitivity trainings leading to   behavioral modification initiatives.

04

Training on POSH Act

CWcSN facilitates sessions addressing staff across diverse sectors including corporate companies, private institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and Academia. The trainings are designed to:

Sensitize employees and management on the POSH Act provisions. Equip Internal Committee (IC) members with procedural clarity and practical approaches to handling complaints with empathy and neutrality. Foster safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace environments.

Integrate real-life case discussions and participatory methods to ensure relevance and applicability in varied organizational contexts.

06

DEI TRAINING

CWcSN engages with the corporate employees and institutions on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) training for the past few years with the 7-module training.

CWcSN works to support students in citizen-formation   from marginalized backgrounds through Monitoring and mentoring their progress and building their knowledge, skills, responsibilities, and motivation to help them become confident and self-reliant individuals.

For School Students: Age-appropriate sessions are conducted in schools. A set of 16 sessions are held in the academic year, with tailored curricula for primary, middle, and high school students.

07

CITIZEN –FORMATION FOR STUDENTS

"I came to CWSN when I had lost all hope after facing years of domestic violence. Through their counseling and training, I not only healed but also learned about my rights. Today, I work as a paralegal volunteer helping other women like me. CWSN gave me the strength to transform my pain into power."
